(OOC) PREMISE
Lore | (OOC) Premise | App | FAQ | NPCs | Setting | FURSA family unit (read: “team”) panfandom game with a twist of dystopian science fiction and ironic domestic humor. Every character will be placed onto a family unit and given a role. Family units participate in family bonding activities that can run the range of “perform the act of a family picnic” to “the family that slays together stays together” as well as more organized games (cry wolf, war rooms, human boardgame/chess, etc) to gain Family fUn Rating Scores. High FURS scores will allow characters to make their own living situations comfortable, keep the robot overlords happy and contribute to a brighter, better world!
The robot overlords have the goal of repopulating the earth, using the data and soul juice (technical scientific term) to create new improved well-behaved humans. So, play your part and nothing will go wrong.
All family units are between 4 and 6 ‘roles’ (to begin with). These roles can be flexible between family units, but there is at least one ‘parent’ in each unit. These titles don’t necessarily mean much though there will be event specific title related causes like “ALL Family Parents must prepare a paper bag lunch for their kids and be judged by robot overlords” or smaller ways to earn FURS like “every time a younger sibling/niece/nephew/baby” role throws a tantrum and then is soothed (or, shushed, or shut up) by another family member, they earn some FURS.
Family units live together in their house, share resources and FURS banks and share hardships as well. All PVP games revolve around the family units - so in the event of a war room game it’s family vs family, hunger games/hunter games will not award points for in-family violence, etc. However not all games have to be PVP, though there will be PVP games, so heads up if you’re not into that.
Suggested family roles:
Parent: Mother, Father, Stepmother (optional, wicked), Stepfather (optional, wicked)
Older Sibling: Eldest child, older brother, older sister
Younger Sibling: Baby of the family, little brother, little sister, new baby
Piblings: Cool Aunt, Cool Uncle, Cranky Aunt, Cranky Uncle
Other: Family Dog, Neighbor-We-Basically-Adopted, Maid/Cook/Nanny
These roles mostly come with optional bonus point earning opportunities. Some of them come with cosmetics as well (father & mother parental roles have tattooed wedding rings, for example. Family dog might have an unremovable collar.)
Characters will mostly be transplants from their native universe. Players can choose from which point they draw characters from their canons, or pull them from AUs. While most characters will find themselves waking up with their new family unit, memories and canon powers (mostly) intact, there is a smaller subset of characters who will be BBs, or BotBots. These BBs are amnesiacs — they remember nothing of their previous lives, even though they have the template of a canon character. They have 1 (one) directive as well. If you hadn't guessed it yet, these BBs are robots and/or clones of the canon characters they represent. These are the MOMBots and DADbots' creation, an attempt an artificial humans. BBs regain memories whenever a family unit gains an improvement -- so based on their FUR rating. All canon powers remain intact.
Whenever a character is introduced, a 'Welcome Home' party is thrown by the bots. Welcome parties have cake (yay cake!) as well as invitations about the new members. It's on these invitations that an extra note about BBs will be included — this will
not reveal their artificial status. So the fact that they are artificial creations is
not known ICly, but rather listed here for full disclosure OOCly so that you know what you're apping into.
All characters will retain their canon abilities with the exception of anything that explicitly breaks the world and can’t be nerfed in some ways. IE “I just create a dimensional gateway and leave” is not allowed. The entire play area (to be determined, but the ‘city’ or whatever) essentially has a damper built in it, nerfing all powers to a ‘reasonable’ level. Powers are essentially 1/10th of what they would be in canon, but people who already have weak powers in canon don’t have to be that nerfed unless you want them to be. Also if it comes to a PVP fight and you want to Look Cool it’s fine to ramp up your power levels a little if the other player agrees and is interested in that. Also due to dimensional travel, none of the MOM or DAD bots or anything plotty can be damaged by abilities (though if you took a sledgehammer to them it wouldn’t matter because they’re future tech but brute force could in theory damage them).
DEATH is permanent but ‘fatal injury’ can be healed WITH SCIENCE with some consequences. There is in fact a hospital run by definitely super legitimate robot doctors who did not at all get their doctoring knowledge from Star Trek.
